Flow Drilling & Tapping
Flow drilling is another process that we use in order to produce bushes & threads in tube or sheet, eliminating the requirement of welding bushes & nuts to components. The flow drilling process forms the metal into a collar inside a tube or through a sheet using friction, the material formed can be up to three times the parent metal thickness. The collar can then be flow tapped if required; the flow tapping process does not cut or remove any of the formed material, making it stronger and quicker than welding nuts onto components.
